My father passed away over the weekend, my step mom wants the Military Flag at the funeral..?
He is having a military funeral with honors. They were married 10 years, she is from the Phillipines and plans on going back there after his funeral. I feel as though I should get the flag. I want it to stay in the family so it can be passed to the grandchildren. I do not want it taken to another country. Any advice on how to deal with this situation?
no idea when my father in law died...my husbands step mother didnt even want the military part of the funeral that my husband pushed so hard for....my sister in law..never even asked...they gave the flag to my husband...it could have been that my "step" mother in law...knew it meant more to my husband im not sure...im not sure she even took any of the bullet casings...i know my father in laws brothers did and we have four of them...i would talk to her and explain it to her..you are his child..she was only in his life the last ten years..you arent trying to say that means nothing..but you want his flag..personally i think you should be the one to keep it..but thats my opinion hers is what is going to matter i guess
